Peter Washington III is a proud native of Cainhoy, SC, and the founder of The Washington Cafe, an art-filled coffee shop in Mount Pleasant, SC. After nearly two decades in Baltimore and the DC metro area, Peter returned to his ancestral family land with a vision: to create a space rooted in culture, creativity, and community. In 2025, he brought that vision to life in nearby Mount Pleasant. Peter’s passion for art has grown into a love of personal style and beautifully designed spaces. He is a graduate of Morgan State University and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. At The Washington Cafe, Peter celebrates his Gullah Geechee heritage and offers a space that fosters culture and creativity by way of coffee and conversation.
