About Me

A graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI and Sleepy Hollow, NY native, Paul Zekus has called Charleston his home since 2015. In New York and Connecticut, he worked in all walks of bars/restaurants and high-end catering. He retired from a career of Public Service and moved south for warmer weather and to further his career in the food and beverage world. He joined and managed all aspects of the Florie’s Neighborhood Dining Group from his arrival in 2015 until 2019. Working under Chef Florie he developed a passion for “brown water.” In April of 2019 he joined the team at Grace & Grit and has since spearheaded the cocktail and bourbon program. The bar program has grown from 50 to just north of 400 unique bourbon and whiskey offerings. Currently you can find him on the floor managing either Grace & Grit or The Grit Counters as the Corporate Beverage Director/General Manager. He is always happy to help guests navigate the extensive bourbon list and pair the right whiskey or cocktail to their meal and palate. In his free time, he enjoys all things sports, especially the NY Yankees, Rangers and Giants.
