About Me

Born and raised in Albany, New York, Chef Chris Evans grew up surrounded by family, food, and the kind of Northern hospitality that later inspired his career in the South. He attended culinary school at a local college in Albany, where he developed a foundation in classic technique and a deep appreciation for simple, well-crafted flavors. His early talent earned him national recognition when he represented South Carolina at the 2004 GH Summit as one of only three chefs selected from the state. That same year, he cooked at the Sports Illustrated Super Bowl Party in Jacksonville, Florida — an experience that reinforced his love for creative, high-energy cooking.

In 2007, Chris made Charleston home. Over the years, he has led kitchens across the Lowcountry, serving as Executive Chef at HoM, Briar’s Creek Country Club, and the beloved Bull Street Gourmet, where his inventive yet comforting dishes gained a loyal following.

Since joining Ms. Rose’s Fine Food & Cocktails in April 2025, Chef Evans has brought his signature style to West Ashley — a blend of classic Southern comfort and refined technique, guided by a belief that great food should make people feel at home.

When he’s not in the kitchen, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and their two cats, catching a Red Sox game, and finding inspiration in the simple joy of good food shared with good company.
