About Me

Chef Landice Simmons is a Charleston local with deep roots in the Lowcountry restaurant scene. His passion for cooking began in childhood, inspired by watching his mother, grandmother, and father work their magic in the kitchen. It’s truly a family affair for Chef, his father, a catering chef, introduced him to the food and beverage industry, and he’s been honing his craft ever since.
Simmons began his career at the legendary Magnolias Restaurant in Charleston as a dishwasher in the early 2000s but quickly worked his way up the line to cook alongside his brother James. Later, he joined Kelly Franz at Kiawah Island’s River Course. However, his connection to Rudy Royale has always been special, he frequently joked with owner Chef Macready Downer about becoming “his chef,” and last year, Macready took him up on the offer.
