Growing up on the eastern shore of Maryland, Bolt cut her teeth in the restaurant industry at busy waterfront establishments from a young age. She worked her way from dishwasher to holding lead hosting and server roles, even spending some time in the kitchen. Upon completing her degree in Broadcast Journalism and briefly working on Capitol Hill, Bolt moved to Charleston to pursue a career in television news. Despite a love for storytelling, hospitality remained her calling. In 2017 Bolt left the news industry to purchase and run The Gin Joint with her husband. It is here where she continues to combine both passions, storytelling and the bar industry, to bring unique cocktails to the Holy City.
