About Me
Troy Arnold was first introduced to the art of Italian cooking and pasta making from one of the best in the city – Michael Kramer, chef/owner of Jianna. At the time, Chef Kramer was one of the Table 301 corporate chefs overseeing the kitchen at Lazy Goat and Troy was working as a sous chef in charge of prep which included making pasta from scratch whenever needed. It was a rough start, but learning to make pasta soon became a life lesson. “Making pasta each day taught me a lot about myself and helped me cope through some difficult times,” said Troy. “When a well-known restaurant copied one of my dishes, I knew this special skill would take me places.”
A native of Greenville, Troy attended high school at Tabernacle Christian School. He initially thought about being a doctor but realized that he was always in the kitchen growing up and that the jobs he loved were culinary driven. He went on to receive his culinary degree from Greenville Tech and worked for years at various Table 301 restaurants before starting his own pasta-making business. Today, Troy is the owner of Pasta Guru where he made his dream a reality.
In his free time, Troy loves to play basketball and go bowling. He’s also a traveler, with a love of the beach and good food. His favorite companion is a Great Dane named Monti – after his favorite sandwich, the Monte Cristo, of course.
