About Me

Kobe Desmet is a Belgian-born agave spirits expert, author, and global educator who has spent the past 15 years connecting the worlds of hospitality, culture, and craftsmanship. After beginning his career behind the bar in Europe, Kobe moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, where he spent nearly seven years immersed in the world of tequila and mezcal, working with the acclaimed Tequila Fortaleza brand and mastering every step of agave production—from field to glass.

He is the co-author of Tequila & Mezcal: The Complete Guide (Lannoo Publishers), an internationally recognized book celebrated for its insight into Mexico’s agave traditions and its influence on modern mixology.

Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Kobe represents PKGD Group, overseeing regional growth for artisanal producers such as G4 Tequila, Palomo Mezcal, and El Acabo Raicilla across the Southeastern United States. His work focuses on education, cultural storytelling, and building meaningful bridges between Mexican producers and the American hospitality industry.
