SFA BBQ Tent Revival @ Rodney Scott’s BBQ

We’re firing up the pits and turning back the clock to celebrate one of Charleston Wine + Food’s most beloved events — the SFA BBQ Tent Revival — in honor of our 20th anniversary!

In partnership with the Southern Foodways Alliance (SFA) and long-time collaborators, Nick Pihakis, The Pihakis Restaurant Group, Rodney Scott, and Rodney Scott’s BBQ, join us in the spirit of celebration and communion around a plate of barbecue on King Street.

Originally created to spotlight the craft, culture, and community of barbecue, the BBQ Tent Revival became a stage for storytelling, where pitmasters, writers, and fans gathered to honor tradition and welcome the next generation. Each year, an up-and-coming pitmaster took the spotlight, and this year, we’re continuing that legacy.

Since the last Revival in 2016, South Carolina’s barbecue scene has exploded with new smokehouses opening, global influences shaping flavors, and communities pushing the boundaries of what BBQ can be. This year’s celebration will highlight the state of BBQ in South Carolina today, shining a light on the people, places, and plates redefining Southern smoke.

Guests will enjoy a family-style feast featuring pitmasters from across the Palmetto State, paired with cold drinks, good music, and plenty of storytelling. The Southern Foodways Alliance will debut a short film honoring our featured pitmaster, capturing their journey and contribution to this evolving craft.

Come hungry for smoke, history, and heart. This is a revival worth coming home for.
